Another day, another workout for a potential draftee. The Celtics held a workout for former Virginia Tech Hokie Erick Green. Green is expected to be drafted in the second round of this years draft, but some of his skills fit the bill the Celtics have been needing all season.

Erick Green finished up his senior season with the Hokies and averaged 25.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game. His ability to score at any point in the game is something the Celtics could really use on the team next year. Green has the ability to score on the fast break, break the defense and his assist to turnover ratio of 4:2 has drawn the attention of the Celtics coaching staff amd scouts.

Green does have a lot of areas to improve in before becoming a good all-around player. He doesn't play defense well, he was often getting caught up on the screen in the pick and roll offense. He also isn't strong enough to keep the other guards out of the paint, which could be a problem in a real game because the guards can score almost as easily than a normal forward with Green guarding them.

I really like hearing the fact that this kid can become a really good scorer in the NBA, but some of his defensive flaws can cause too many problems on a defensive minded Celtics team. Green could become a steal to any team like Norris Cole is to the Heat (I can't believe I just said that).
